M&A Executives, Serial Entrepreneurs, and CEOs Take The Stage

C-Suite TV’s Executive Perspectives Live airs new August episodes featuring M&A executives from the CPA Annual Meeting, Marco Robinson, Scott Wells, G. Scott Paterson and Stephen Meade

NEW YORK, Aug. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Executive Perspectives Live, one of the top online business shows on C-Suite TV, is announcing new episodes for the month of August.  The episodes feature a panel of contract packaging industry executives -- Ben Gordon, Managing Partner, Cambridge Capital; Eric Wilhelm, CEO, Coregistics; and William P. Stubbs, Jr from Stubbs Law Firm, LLC; serial entrepreneur, speaker, author, real estate developer and creator of the NAKED brand, Marco Robinson; CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor, Scott Wells; Executive Chairman and Founder, FutureVault, Inc., G. Scott Paterson; and MonetaPro CEO, Stephen Meade.

Host Jeffrey Hayzlett talked to executives who have been through the acquisition process within the contract packaging industry about what needs to happen when the time for being sold comes, asking about what to tell company owners before they sell the business. The panelists suggested owners should liquify some of the net worth they have on paper, separate real estate from the rest of the company, as real estate will typically sell for up to twelve times higher, and “begin with the end in mind.” They also suggested asking which buyer is going to care the most about the business and research what other companies they’ve bought, how do they stack up, and what they care about. They also advise that owners should run their companies like you’re never going to sell them and don’t take your eye off the ball.

Hayzlett asked Robinson about his childhood experiences and how those helped shape the person he is today – personally and professionally. As a child, Robinson and his mother were homeless and endured a number of other hardships, which, he says, were a “blessing in disguise” because being in a bad, desperate situation was the best lesson on how to be an entrepreneur.  “Desperation and inspiration” are the two main factors that have motivated him throughout his life. Robinson created the NAKED brand about six years ago and, according to him, it represents being yourself, transparency, and having a good time. Transparency helped him launch his next venture – NAKED exchange, dealing in blockchain technology. He says, the best feeling in the world is watching the people you’ve helped transform their life. That, he adds, is his purpose.

Scott Wells, CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor talks about the “last mass visual medium” which is digital advertising. Wells tells Hayzlett that digital signage is about two-way feedback, video, and large and powerful static signs. Despite the industry being ripe for transformation, the digital advertising field is growing fast and steady – high teens to low twenties. The $1.2 billion industry is intensely regulated but he believes that “as autonomy becomes a bigger part of what’s going on, it’ll be regulated differently.” Wells says that advertising is a “real estate business as well as a media business” because of urbanization in different markets. The cleanest form of ROI is putting a sign close to your store and increasing sales. The next step? Incorporating mobile advertising into out-of-home (OOH) advertising. “If you’re doing mobile ads and you’re not using OOH, you’re leaving money on the table,” Wells states.

Executive Chairman and Founder of FutureVault, Inc., G. Scott Paterson, talked to Hayzlett about business opportunities across the border. Paterson cites FutureVault as an example of how Canadian public policy can work successfully regarding funding innovation and research. He compares favorable business opportunities north of the border to radio play for Canadian artists, as at least 35 percent of all radio play is devoted to local artists, adding that smaller countries need to do whatever they have to do to compete. Paterson states that in order to create business opportunities in the U.S., it’s easier to create subsidiaries as the corporate tax rate is lower in Canada.

MonetaPro CEO, Stephen Meade has successfully integrated the oldest form of e-commerce, bartering, with the most modern – blockchain technology. Back in 2000, Meade designed a system capable of showing the visibility of idle assets and trade goods, called EAMS (Emergency Asset Management System), first used after 9/11. After selling an ecommerce company in 1999, he became fascinated by corporate barter where the average transaction is over $1 million.  In 2017, he founded MonetaPro which he calls “a glorified Amazon.” MonetaPro is a closed loop system that allows companies to list their assets, sell them to a third party and earn credits to buy assets from another party. He also created GBUCs (Global Business Usage Currency) credits, which helps maintain a margin, remove inventory, book it at full retail, acquire another asset without using cash, and potentially not get taxed, stressing that companies are “doing it for tax compliance, not tax avoidance.”

All episodes of Executive Perspectives Live are hosted by Jeffrey Hayzlett and can be seen throughout the month on C-Suite TV.

Best-selling author, speaker, and former Fortune 100 CMO Jeffrey Hayzlett created C-Suite TV to give top-tier business executives a forum for sharing thought-provoking insights, in-depth business analysis, and their compelling personal narratives.

“This month we have such a wide range of topics and experts – from packaging industry experts, to international entrepreneurs to mixing old and new seamlessly,” Hayzlett said. “Business is always changing but that doesn’t necessarily mean reinventing the wheel.
